After Mulawin, Angel played the title role of the heroine Darna in fantasy television series Ravelo's Darna with Dennis Trillo as her leading man. According to AGB and AC Nielsen, Darna was the first series to reach 47.1 % in rating in 2005. It also generated 52.1 % rating the highiest GMA rating achieved by any GMA shows by that year. Since then Angel received several TV commercials and endorsements, film projects, lead role projects thus getting huge popularity in the Philippines.
